About BrightHarbor

Our Story and Mission

We believe that stable access to clean water, reliable education, and sustainable agriculture are fundamental building blocks for healthy, self-reliant communities.

Value 1

Complete Transparency

We account for every dollar received. By providing regular status updates, our supporters can visually see the tangible difference their contributions achieve.

Value 2

Community Ownership

We don't build and walk away. All water wells and educational resources are co-managed by local councils to ensure they continue to operate for generations.

Value 3

Compassionate Focus

Our team is driven by empathy. We work hand-in-hand on the ground alongside families to restore hope and build resilient neighborhoods.

How We Started

BrightHarbor Foundation was formed in 2018 when a small group of volunteers and engineers traveled to dry regions in sub-Saharan Africa. Witnessing school children walk up to five miles daily just to fetch drinking water inspired a commitment to build stable community wells directly beside school properties.

What began as a single well construction has evolved into a global network. Today, we address basic health, stable educational resources, and environmental restoration, helping community members thrive in place.
